COMMUNITY CORNER

We know our documentation is solid, but sometimes it helps to actually watch someone do it: We published a 2-part video guide that walks you through setting up a complete Icinga monitoring environment from scratch. Part 1 covers the core installation, database setup, and getting Icinga Web running. Part 2 picks up with the Icinga Director, where you'll create hosts, services, and your first real checks in a structured way. Feel free to share it with your team.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Icinga Roadmap

"While we're celebrating the release of the OpenTelemetry integration, there's plenty more on the horizon. Single Sign-On and Two-factor authentication are coming soon to Icinga Web, and Icinga Director will receive a brand new implementation of custom variables with native support for dictionaries and arrays.

Meanwhile, the team is already working on Icinga Notifications v1.0, which will bring HA support, generic sources, an improved API, and more. We're also finalising the concept for a new dashboard implementation that will make Icinga Web dashboards cleaner, more dynamic, and far more feature-rich.

Lots of great things ahead, stay tuned!'
Blerim Sheqa, COO Icinga

Claude Meetup

Two weeks ago, we opened our doors for the local Claude Meetup, hosted by Community Ambassador Michael in Nuremberg. Eric's talk on working with Claude Code in a legacy codebase sparked some great discussion. No one has the perfect recipe for working with AI yet (and maybe never will), and that's exactly why these meetups matter. Attendees shared ideas but also doubts and failures, so that others can learn from them.
